Help!

Rae has been sick since Saturday night and I am about to lose my mind! What do you do to stay sane when you have sick children?

The only thing that helps me, is clearing my mind of anything and everything that I know I have to do. When your Baby is sick, the only thing you should be doing is holding them, cuddling with them and being there for them all day. It gets hard because you start to think of all the things you need or have to get done. But when you have a Baby and their sick, the only want their Mommy and then need you. So you just have to drop everything and be there for Rae. And also try to remember what you feel like when you're sick and remember that she can't tell you what hurts and that she doesn't feel good. So her only outlet may be crying, not sleeping of just being fussy.

Good luck, it will pass and things will be back to normal soon. I hope she feels better !

Poor Rae! Does she have the flu, temp or a cold? It's no fun when your baby is sick, especially when they can't tell you what's wrong! Just cuddle with her, rest when she does. I hope she gets better soon!

She has been throwing up off and on, had diarrhea, fevers off and on, extreme congestion, and a nasty cough. I can understand the irritability, but she still doesn't want to cuddle. She doesn't want to be held, but she doesn't want to not be held either. Grrrrr! We have a doctor appt Thurs morning and I won't leave untill he can tell me what to do to make her get better faster!

Have you tried giving her a warm bath ? That might help her relax and feel better. Also driving around in the car might help her and you relax. Just a few ideas that usually helped us when Douglas was a Baby.

I wonder if Rae has the same Virus that Douglas ( and a ton of other people ) had. He did a lot of the same things ( throwing up, fever, congestion, etc ) and now that he has been on his Antibiotics for a few days, he is a lot better.

I am so sorry she is sick. Ian had a fever a couple of weeks ago, and I wish I could give you some great motherly advice, but I have none. I hope little Rae feels better soon.

Kylee had a runny nose once but wasn't really sick and wasn't fussy so I'm like Taryn, I have no advice. But I have actaully been very sick twcie since Kylee's been home. Ben took over when he got home from work and helped out a ton. But I'm sure this will be me some day and I'd probably make Ben take a day off. Then if my holding her didn't work, I'd leave her in her room and invest in some good ear plugs. ;) Let us know how the doc appt went, what'd he say and prescribe?

Pawn her off on family :) Just kidding but maybe they could help so you could have a few minutes to yourself? Beyond that I am not sure. Porter has only been really sick once and I was so sad!
