Help! I need your "Mommy" advice!

This sweet little thing stopped sleeping through the night about six weeks ago due to teething. The evil little teeth have made an entrance, but this time she is holding onto old habits and waking me up 2-3 times every night. All I have to do is turn on her music and find her binkie in the dark and she goes right back to sleep.(I know she shouldn't have a binkie anymore, but we were going to break that habit when I am not sick all day.) Anyways, short story long, I seem to have insomnia this pregnancy. It takes me HOURS to get back to sleep and when I finally do, she wakes me up again. The less sleep I get, the more sick I seem to be during the day. What can I do?

Katelyn slept horrible while she teething, which it seemed to never end.
She still wakes up once a night and asks for a drink.
I have just learned to deal w/ it.
I feel for you on the insomnia thing too, I had the same problem when I was prego.
Can you attach the binky to her, so she can find it herself?
It's all about the patience. Good Luck!

I would ask your doctor about the unisom and B-6 I've heard it works wonders.
As for the binky... I don't know for sure I may try to let her cry it out... after your not sick all day, or not. Sorry that's a tough one.

First things first, it is advice - not advise ; ) I don't think it is terrible that she has a binky at night. Douglas still sleeps with a big boy sippy. It is a total security thing and that is why we're not breaking him of it. He will let it go when he is ready. But Rae is still pretty young and so the biny is fine for now. As far as her waking up - have you tried giving her Motrin or something like that before you put her to bed at night ? That might keep the pain from her teething down, so she can sleep through it. But it also might be something, like Jen said, that you have to just deal with. Douglas wakes up about once a night to go to the bathroom. So all kids are different. There will come a time when she will sleep all night again. Until then, maybe just try naps during the day or some quiet time so you can rest.

I'm sorry Allison, it just sucks hu? Well I'm right there with you. If it isn't Gunner it's the girls. It is a miracle to get through a full nights sleep. That is why I always say sleep is a luxary I guess I can't afford. And I hear you on the being pregnant and needing sleep thing. I try to sleep in, in the morning, but difficult when you have 3 children. At least you have only one, and no daily appt's. Try and nap during the day. Every kid is different. You think you figure them out and then it changes. Just keep trying I guess. It feels like it's going to be this way forever and you will never survive. But it goes by so fast. I just try to think, someday I will look back and wish I had a baby to hold.

Allison, actually you can spell it advice or advise so no worries! :)

Ok, you won't want to hear my advice, I am horrible. Kylee wakes up during the teething thing a couple times a night. If she doesn't have a runny nose or wasn't hot I don't even get her. She just cries/moans for a couple min's then goes back to sleep. I just totally ignore her, I'm bad. If I know it's a bad tooth and is just fussy/runny nose/has been hot in the day I do give her drugs. But here I am being horrible again....if you know she isn't teething and she just has a bad habit of wanting to see you or something, you have to break it by not giving in. It'll probably take like 3 days of hell so I suggest ear plugs. :) Also, can you put repeat all on her cd?

That stinks Allison! I feel for ya. I would try using some melatonin. It works great if they right on the edge of falling asleep, but aren't. Best of all its herbal :) Congrats on the pregnancy though!!

I second Annalee's advice. I guess I am a mean mom too. I just let Ian cry, unless it is a hysterical cry, and you know the difference. By the way I tried the unisom and vitamin B6 like that lady suggested and I thought it worked worked wonders. I slept better and was less sick during the day when I took it. Call me if you want the dosing.

Hey Allison! It was good to see you a couple weeks ago. About the non-sleeping... I'm a mean mom too and just have made my kids cry it out (CIO). It works in just a few days. If they are teething, I make sure to give them Motrin before bed. Can you put several binkies in her crib so she can find one on her own in the middle of the night? Good luck, sleeping issues are not fun to deal with, especially while pregnant!

I'm adding you to my blogger list, hope you don't mind. ;)
